Laura Elia Biography

Laura Elia was born in Wichita Falls, Texas in 1964. She received a B.B.S. in Marketing and Management and a M.S. in Marketing from Texas A&M University. After working in the corporate arena for almost a decade, she pursued a degree in Interior Design. For the past 6 years, she has owned a full-service Interior design firm, Arftul Interiors, in Dallas, Texas.

In 2006, she began painting after images began to flood her mind during meditation practices. Self-taught, she is inspired by the imagery and saturated colors found in traditional Tibetan Buddhist ritual objects, like thangkas and mandalas.

Each one of her paintings contains a Tibetan prayer flag embedded within, offering a humble request for compassion, peace, or wisdom.
